Balkans School Completed with Certificate Distribution.
The Balkans School Education Program, whose Opening/Introduction meeting was held on February 2, started with the "Ottoman Period in the Balkans" course on Saturday, February 5 at Istanbul University Faculty of Letters. Twenty sessions were held in the program, which lasted 10 weeks. Four of the lectures were held online, and six of them were held in different halls of the Istanbul University Faculty of Economics, Communication and Literature. Throughout the program, after the topics that concern the whole geography, such as the history of the Balkans, the Yugoslavian period, its geographical and political structure, ethnic problems, and security problems, sessions were held about each country. As a result, 48 of our students were entitled to receive certificates by attending at least 70% of the courses.
At the certificate distribution ceremony, first of all, Program Coordinator Emin EMİN gave information about the process.
After a short video screening, Prof. Faruk TAŞÇI, Director of ISUMER, spoke about the works of ISUMER for the Balkan countries.
Afterwards, Mehmet ÜNAL, Chairman of Bâb-ı Âlem International Student Association YİK, gave a speech of thanks.
Then, ITO Deputy Chairman İsrafil KURALAY gave a speech pointing out the importance of the program and the continuation of ITO's ownership of such programs.
Finally, Istanbul University Vice Rector Prof. Levent ŞAHİN made a speech pointing out the place of internationalization within the vision of Istanbul University and stating that they always attach importance to such studies.
After the speeches, certificates were distributed to the participants as a group.
